Our commitment is towards a clean, safe and healthy environment for us all.
In order to keep our commitment, Kiwi Green has implemented several initiatives which are contributing to our personal sustainability targets and responsibilities.
The steps which we have taken include:
Energy-saving lighting in our offices, including specially fitted skylight ducts so as to elliminate unnecessary daytime lighting
The entire interior of our office spaces have been redecorated and painted with the use of paints bearing the environmental standards tick
Aside from the normal recycling of plastics and papers we have implemented in house standards for sorting waste before it reaches the kerbside
We have initiated the first stages of a paperless office, choosing to send emails rather than post information - unless requested
Included in our paperless office is the use of paperless fax services, meaning any fax we receive is rediredted to an email address rather than being printed out
Double sided printing and the re-use of the back-side of printed documents is in practice
The use of an enviro-copy paper which is produced from 100% sustainable fibres
All products we send out are in recyclable containers and are packaged in cardboard boxes with recycled news paper as filling
As a member and sponsor of Greendrinks Whitianga we are able to network our initiatives with other like minded businesses in our community
Kiwi Greens Regeneration project plants up to 2000 native seedlings each year contributing to our goal of reaching carbon neutrality
In our first year Kiwi Green has introduced over 200 business nationwide to our range of eco friendly products with our goal for that number to double within this second year
In addition to this Kiwi Green promotes the use of its products to all staff members and associated workers. We also believe that the small things all add up. To this end we are conscious of such things as which kind of milk we buy - so that the container can be recycled, whether the sugar we use has been through any unnecessary processing and which brand of recycled toilet paper we use and where such products are manufactured and produced.
For Kiwi Green, sustainability means thinking about our future. Hence we’re confident that our heading in this direction is enabling us to keep our commitment to sustainability as we gently tread the eco path.
